È prevista per il prossimo 15 novembre la pubblicazione, da parte della Warner Brothers Records, della versione Super Deluxe di 1999. Dalle prime conferme si parla di una ristampa in due versioni: un cofanetto contenente 5CD e 1DVD e uno con 10LP e 1DVD. Oltre all’album rimasterizzato ci saranno promo, remix e B-sides dei singoli con l’aggiunta di inediti registrati nel periodo di realizzazione e pubblicazione dell’album (1981-83). Il DVD contiene il concerto al The Summit di Houston del 29 dicembre 1982.

Pare che ci sia materiale mai ascoltato registrato da Miles Davis e Prince.

Un lavoro di selezione e rimasterizzazione fatto con accuratezza e rispetto. Gli inediti (parecchi veramente mai sentiti finora erano citati solo su vault.com) sono di un’ alta qualità artistica, incredibile che Prince li abbia scartati o soltanto “dimenticati” per sempre.
Alcuni di questi negli anni sarebbero potuti uscire come singoli e sarebbero sicuramente schizzati in alto nelle classifiche tanto sono belli.
Cito solo “Can’t stop this feeling i got”, la cui potenza fa impallidire la versione da “Graffiti Bridge”.
Chicche già trapelate da tanto tempo, si possono finalmente ascoltare in ottima qualità, lo stesso vale per i tanti remix e/o versioni alternative presenti in quantità industriale (alcune versioni in verità trascurabili).
